Establishment:

Establishment Political Science department is one of the reputed and renowned departments of our institute from the very beginning. Undergraduate course in Political Science is conducted since the inception of our college in 1959. The postgraduate course was initiated in June 1972.  Intake strength for M.A. is 60 & for B.A. is 120.

Vision, Mission, Objectives

Vision ‘To inculcate moral & human values in students and to develop them as  responsible Indian as well as global citizens and also to make them familiar with the concepts & perspectives of political science.’

 

Mission “To impart comprehensive and learner centered training with all the relevant scientific and philosophical aspects of the field of national and international politics.”

 

Goals  Objectives
  • To inculcate basic human values like Liberty, Equality and Fraternity.
  •  To make the students aware of their constitutional and legal rights and the duties towards the nation and society.
  • To make students aware of the concept of Social Justice.
  • To Endeavour to promote participation of rural people in Local-Self Government.
  • To enable and inspire the students for research in Political Science.
  • To prepare students for playing a  role in society as future administrators, academician and politicians.
  • To understand formal and informal processes of administration, government & politics.
  • A Comprehensive study of all the relevant theoretical and practical aspects of the field of international relations.
  • A detailed study of the political system of India and other Countries (As per the syllabi.)
  • To provide guidance for competitive (NET/ SET & MPSC-UPSC) examinations.
  • To undertake research in emerging, contemporary and burning issues and various concepts in Political Science like ‘Feminism’, ‘Human Rights’, ‘Terrorism’, ‘Social Justice’ etc.
  • To undertake full-fledged study through major/minor research or through the doctoral research..
